Like other reviewers, I noticed a confident smell when the holder was opened and the plastic removed. I aired it face for about 8 hours, then brought it inside and left it in the living room to air for an additional one day and half. It still has some smell on the bed, but either it is diminishing or I'm getting used to it because I barely observation it after 3 days.

I have fibromyalgia and sleep on my side and commonly have to flip over frequently during the night due to the pressure on my hip. Since I've had this mattress pad, I don't have to flip at all. It does take some getting used to, but I love that it's soft but not super squishy. I don't have problems getting out of the bed or rolling over. I had seen reviews of other pads that talked about the heat factor. My husband is very sensitive to heat but he has not yet complained about this pad manufacture the bed hotter so maybe it's not an issue with this one.
